This is Module 2 of a six part series on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), presented by Dr. Amna Anwar. Dr. Anwar MBBS, MPH has been with Indiana Rural Health Association as the Epidemiologist for two years. Her work has involved grant evaluations, project coordination and grant writing. She is currently working as the program director for Indiana Rural Opioid Consortium, which is a grant funded program under Health Resources and Services Administration for combating the epidemic of opioid overdose deaths and morbidity in the rural Indiana. Her research interests include health disparities, mental health and opioid addiction and vaccine preventable diseases.
Objectives:
1. The participants will be able to understand that opioid use disorder is a chronic disease.
2. The participants will understand the multifactorial etiology of opioid use disorder.
3. The participants will understand the effective treatment of opioid use disorder is possible.
